vifGA is a Project Independence Service Provider
Georgia’s Project Independence is a joint federal and state program for Georgia’s visually impaired seniors.
This vision program for seniors is administered by the Georgia Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and provides services that can help you remain independent. The services provided to those who qualify are free.
The Georgia Division of Vocational Rehabilitation contracts with Project Independence Service Providers across the state to provide services. vifGA is honored to be a provider of this very important service.
The Vocational Rehabilitation Division provides many valuable services to Georgia residents with disabilities. They also provide assistance to Georgia employers who are wanting to add qualified workers to their force or to retain current workers with a disability. Who is eligible?
- A GA Senior, 55 years and older
- With a severe vision loss in best eye with best correction
- Who may find returning to the workforce difficult
- And would benefit from independent living services
