Here is information about the 2017 Georgia AER Annual Conference:

Title: Bridging the Gap Between Children & Adults in Vision Services
Date: Saturday, March 11, 2017
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.)
Location: Center for the Visually Impaired (739 W. Peachtree St. NW Atlanta, GA 30308)

Presenters include Emory Eye Specialists and Practitioners from Across the State

  • Panel presentation by Emory Eye Specialists: Medical Diagnosis/Prognosis of Eye Conditions, and Service Delivery by Blindness Practitioners from Across the State
  • Demonstration of Google Docs Accessed by People who are Blind
  • Strategies for Incorporating Exercise & Fitness for Children and Adults who are Blind
  • The Importance of Web Accessibility: A Demonstration of Web Accessibility, and Why It’s Important from a Compliance and Business Perspective
  • AMAC’s Braille Services: AMAC’s Braille Services: Creative Solutions to Produce Timely, High Quality Braille at Lower Costs

Agenda and Presenters:

8:30 – 9:00: Registration
9:00 – 11:00: Bridging the Divide Between Medical Diagnosis to Service Delivery for Children and Adults (Panel Presentation by Dr. Susan Primo, Dr. Phoebe Lenhart from Emory Eye Center and Blindness Practitioners from across the state)
11:00-12:00: Leveraging Google Docs using Screen Readers (Greg Aikens)
12:00 – 1:00: Lunch Included with Registration – CVI’s VisAbility Store will be open during this time
1:00 – 2:00: Exercise & Fitness for Children and Adults who are Blind (Kristi Logue)
2:00 – 3:00: Web Accessibility: What it Looks and Sounds Like, and Why It’s Essential (John Rempel)
3:00 – 4:00: AMAC’s Braille Services: Moving the Needle One Bump at a Time (Guy Toles)
4:00 – 5:00: AER General Membership Meeting: (For Georgia AER Board and Members)
