In honor of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990, Albany Transit is hosting an ADA forum that will include speakers from local and State agencies. Information tables will be set up on various related topic. Free blood pressure checks will be offered.
Visually Impaired Foundation of Georgia will have a booth at this conference. Please come by to meet our newest team member and Low Vision Specialist, Hal Speich or “Spike” as he likes to be called. He will be demonstrating the newest equipment for visually impaired including the Optelec MultiView with Speech video magnifier ( a video magnifier that will read to you as well as enlarge the print!) Speich will have simulators of visual diseases at the booth so people can experience what it is like to have macular degeneration or cataracts!
The Visually Impaired Foundation of Georgia Booth will have brochures on low vision clinics and resources in the area.
The event is on Friday, July 8 from 11:30 to 4:00.
